Jury deadlocks over whether stepfather killed 2-year-old Jahi Turner. The tragic mystery of whatever happened to 2-year-old Jahi Turner was not resolved by a jury on Friday.
The nine men and four women who spent the week trying to determine whether the little boy’s stepfather, Tieray Jones, murdered him in 2002 were not able to come to agreement on a verdict.
San Diego Superior Court Judge Joan Weber declared a mistrial when jurors insisted they would not be able to agree unanimously to convict or acquit Jones.
They revealed in court Friday that they were divided 10-2 in favor of finding him not guilty on the murder charge. They also could not reach agreement on the lesser charge of manslaughter. Source 1u
